A word from Cath

Just last month we were celebrating our 175th issue and looking forward to a year of celebrations; this month we are facing unexpected and unprecedented challenges.

The coronavirus outbreak is affecting us all, so I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know of our plans at The Listing for the coming months.

Our April issues are at the printers and deliveries are due to start next Wednesday 25th March.  Our amazing delivery team are on hand ready to deliver the magazines, and we have back-up support to call on in case illness prevents the team from covering their round.

In times of crisis like this, we think it is important that we continue to publish our community magazines that bring residents, businesses and organisations together, as long as it is safe and viable to do so. We are aware how very essential our community magazines and delivery services are in keeping the community together and providing a source of hope and practical support with the outside world.  This will enable us to continue to support local people with all the information they need to help them.

To stay connected we are also encouraging readers and advertisers to sign up to our online mailing list and receive a copy of our magazines and updates direct to your inbox – www.eepurl.com/dxAazL

In addition, we are of course thinking about you, our local business community too.  We believe it is important that we continue to carry on with your business marketing and advertising as far as possible in order to assist with economic recovery once this crisis has passed.  We understand that you may be reviewing your own business strategy at the moment, and in the interim it could mean changing your service offering or marketing message to your customers.  We are hearing wonderful stories from our customers of how they are adapting their services; restaurants who are offering takeaway delivery, exercise classes going online, therapists with online consultations.  Do keep us in touch with your plans and we are here to help you reach your audience.  When all this is over, we will need each other like never before to rebuild our local economy.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help – we are here to support you, our local businesses and community as much as we can. Collectively, we will adapt and come out the other side stronger and braver.  Thank you for your continuing support.

Stay positive, stay safe, and stay together.
