Open Eco Homes – Autumn Season Open Eco Homes is back once again with free home tours and expert-led talks. This year’s series of tours and talks will be online and include two new builds, six retrofits (including a church) and five expert-led talks. Open Eco Homes is a project of local charity Cambridge Carbon Footprint. This year we’re focusing on how to get started reducing energy use at home. Whether you’re looking for ‘easy win’ actions such as draught-proofing or insulation or expert advice to support you to put together a whole house retrofit, we’re here to help. Royston WEA Royston WEA is very pleased to offer once again a face-to-face course following the many months when learning was only available online. Starting on Tuesday 14th September, 10.00-11.30am, the 10-week course is open to all and will be held in the Heritage Hall, Royston Town Hall. The fee is £59.25 and early enrolment is advised. Royston Health Walks is a social walking group. We have 2 walks every Wednesday from The Heath Café, Baldock Road, Royston, SG8 5BG Our 10am walk over Therfield Heath is at a leisurely pace. It is an opportunity to have a chat and hopefully meet some new people. We typically cover around 1.5 miles and end up in the Café for a brew. Our second walk is similar to the first but the routes we take are a bit more challenging and a little longer. During the summer the start time is 5pm but will become earlier as the days become shorter (call or email to confirm start time). Everyone is very welcome to join us regardless of age, level of fitness and in principle state of health. Email roystonhealthwalks@btinternet.com for further information

Strangers on a Film For the Royston Arts Festival shows, this will be followed by a screening of the movie itself – a much loved Hitchcock classic. Performances will be at King James Academy Royston, Senior Site, on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 September Because of the length of the film, the evening will start at 7.00 p.m. (doors open 6.30) and the evening should end at around 9.45 p.m. Tickets cost £10 on door (cash only) and audiences are encouraged to bring their own refreshments and find a table.
