Meet our Head Chef Fergie (alias Chris Jones)
As he trained at the world famous Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxford with Raymond Blanc he can bring amazing Michelin starred foord at more affordable prices. His passion is for top quality seasonal locally sourced food.
Fergie was born in Royston so knows the local area and wanted to bring his knowledge back to his roots. After leaving Melbourn Village College he started his training at Sheene Mill when it was owned by Stephen Saunders. It was Stephen who recognised his ability and put Fergie forward to train with Raymond Blanc.
When he completed his training, Fergie returned to Sheene Mill before moving to The Fox in Willian where he took his first Head Chef’s position. He has since increased his knowledge in various areas including outside catering and weddings. He is now delighting diners at the Coach House. Starting from scratch with a new kitchen (which was modernised to his requirements) he has made it a place to visit to enjoy quality affordable food.
