It’s always a treat to be pampered, so I jumped at the chance when nail professional Lisa Porto offered me a manicure.
Lisa qualified with CND as a Certified Nail Professional last year. She has always loved doing her own nails and, over time, her friends and family asked her to do theirs too. As her services became increasingly in demand, Lisa decided to train professionally.
Lisa offers a mobile service on weekends and evenings, and brings her mobile salon to your home. This is a great service for people who like to be pampered but struggle to find the time during the day.
She offers a full range of nail services, from a simple file and polish to Mini, Classic or Spa Manicures and Pedicures. There’s a choice of finishes, from natural finish, Vinylux and CND Shellac, all of which come in an impressive array of colours from neutrals, pinks, purples and reds, to brighter neons. If the brights still aren’t bright enough for you, there’s also Minx wraps, Nail Art and Rockstar nails to choose from to brighten up your summer!
I chose CND Shellac, as it feels natural yet is hard-wearing. As my friends know, my latest interest is vegetable gardening, and that is one hobby that really isn’t kind to your hands! Lisa worked on my cuticles and shaped my nails before applying the Shellac. It’s a quick and easy process, with the application just like a normal nail polish, before your hands are placed in a UV lamp for a couple of minutes per coat to fix the colour. At the end I was treated to nail oil and hand cream. All new customers receive a fabulous welcome pack, which includes aftercare advice, a loyalty card and nail oil, which Lisa recommends applying a couple of times a day.
I am delighted to report that after a full day’s gardening (I promised I would wear gloves, and did.. some of the time..) that my nails are still shiny and bright without a chip in sight!
