Who knew that we have a children’s author living in Bassingbourn!
Catherine Rosevear has written a book for children called ‘The Secret of the Wooden Chest’. It features friendship, mystery, humour and a touch of magic. It is mainly suitable for children between the ages of 7 to 10 years, although older or younger ones may also enjoy it.
12 year old Iona Berry has read the book for us and this is her review:
“The Secret of the Wooden Chest is the first in the Roman Magic series, featuring schoolgirl Hannah and her friend, Mrs Oberto. It’s a beautiful tale highlighting the importance of friendship and trust, adding magic along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and I thought it would make an excellent bedtime story, as it has short chapters and leaves you wanting more. I’ll be looking out for the sequels! “
“The Secret of the Wooden Chest” is published by Matador and 15% of the profits from the sale of the book will be donated to BBC Children in Need.
