Local Royston Gym achieves 24 workouts in 24 hours raising money & awareness for Duchenne…

Members of CrossFit Royston and Fighting Fit Royston completed an epic 24hr Fitness Challenge (Dinosaur day for Duchenne) over the weekend of the 30th November to raise money and awareness for Duchenne Disease, a severe type of muscular dystrophy.

‘Each year we do a couple of Fitness events to raise money and awareness for local charities’ says business owner David “Aussie”Ayliffe.  I became aware that a little fella of two of our members has this awful condition. As soon as I met little Dinosaur loving Harrison, I knew our guys would get behind this cause to help raise money so Kev and Clare can take H on some epic holidays and pay for Life bettering treatments.

Dinosaur Day for Duchenne kicked off at 8am Saturday morning and finished at 8am Sunday. There were 24 one-hour workouts with over 300 people taking part of all ages and fitness levels. So far we have raised over £2700.

“It is very humbling to be a part of a wonderful caring Fitness community who continually go above and beyond to help others” Owner David ‘Aussie’ Ayliffe.
