Museum Musings: Healthy Mind & Body

We’ve been working with the wonderful team at BEEE Creative who run dance workshops in the Museum.

One group they run is designed for adults who want a gentle physical and mental workout. Each session takes place in the museum. It’s a totally different experience than a gym as your exercising surrounded by Royston’s local history. Carrie, the group leader, plays a great selection of music to get moving to. If you need to take a break or do the workout sitting down, that’s absolutely fine. You don’t need to commit to coming every week, just drop in when you can and why not bring a friend or two!

These sessions run when the museum is closed to visitors so the group have the museum all to themselves. A great way to experience some quiet time too. Museums are no longer just places to see objects. We are working towards being inclusive and providing more activities that support our community.

We live in a great area with a real community spirit and we want to continue to support that.
What’s even better is that the sessions are free and there’s a chance afterwards for you to chat with the group over tea or coffee. Sessions run most Fridays at the Museum from 11.15am – 12pm. Check out our website for dates and to book.
