Jane is a busy mum, with many hats…Midweek you’ll find her at marketing agency, C4B Media in town, and at any other time, you may find her either teaching her Hypnobirthing antenatal classes, or at a birth, as a doula. She also founded Royston Rounders Club in 2010.
Where do you live? Bassingbourn
What’s your favourite local place to eat? We’re lucky for choice in Royston and the surrounding area. I think I would have to say The Jolly Postie, as it’s a fantastic place to eat for all the family, with lots of choice and a favourite of my daughters’ too! Our girls do not know that we are eating there on Christmas Day It’s also where I met my husband, 16 years ago!!
Your favourite Local Shop? Glazed Creations. We are so lucky to have a creative studio like this in Royston. I often buy vouchers for clients and hold printing events for parents and babies there. Owners Christina and Pip are just lovely!
What is your guilty pleasure? Having a whole pack of biscuits with a cup of tea (easily done).
What was the last film you watched? I rarely have the chance to watch films, but funnily enough the last one I actually sat down to watch was ‘Bridesmaids’ with a client, whilst she was in labour!
What makes you happy? Ooo tons of things. My family and the families I support, my friends and my ‘jobs’.
What annoys you? Sales calls. Surely they annoy everyone, right?
What is your favourite book? Men, Love & Birth by male midwife, Mark Harris, who I know and have huge respect for. Written for men, but a must-read for all.
It’s so interesting!
What do you love about your work? With all my ‘jobs’, it’s the people. And whether I’m working with my couples in Breeze Birthing or businesses at C4B Media, I love to empower them and give them the education and tools that they need. Being a birth doula, it’s a real priviledge to witness new life, twice a month, and being a part of that.
What is your greatest fear? Not being able to help people anymore.
