Royston LIVE (previously Royston Folk Club)

April 26, 2022 by Caitlin Boughton

Royston LIVE at… The Royston British Legion

After seven happy years at The Old Bull Inn – Royston Folk Club has relocated to The Royal British Legion in Mill Road, under a new name … Royston LIVE …

Here, in a bigger space, they can continue to offer around 100 people amazing LIVE music, but now socially distanced in groups, around tables.

The club is very proud to not just offer great music, but also a friendly community, that gives folks a break from life’s everyday ups and downs. It’s a great place to meet and join those nick named the “Roystoneers”, the super fans that inspire the musicians to excel….

Local musicians that showcase from London and around the shires and concerts from well-established artists on tour.

Why the name change? “Well, we don’t just present trad folk musicians, we enjoy an eclectic mix, though mostly acoustic, we see nothing wrong with a good electric guitar or keyboard player and a fresh new song”, organiser Chris said.

Hannah & Ben
Fred’s House

The ‘Whats On’ page is full for 2022, with video tasters of every upcoming act to tempt you.

The second Friday of each month features a local musician or band and showcases four more acts all for just £7.

The last Friday of every month they present an established artist or band in concert for usually around £15. Two performers coming up this year are Fred’s House, an award-winning band based in Cambridge playing 70’s West Coast inspired folk/rock, and very classy Folk/Blues duo Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage.

Concert support acts are developed through the showcase nights.

Check out the videos of the full line up for 2022 at www.roystonlive.org
