Sport Royston
In July 1972 representatives of sporting clubs based in Royston met to form Royston And District Sports Council. Now in 2018 the voice of sport for Royston is known as Sport Royston. Every sports club is invited to register with Sport Royston at no cost and participate in its activities.
Over the years Sport Royston has promoted a variety of events, Junior Super Stars, Sports Fayres, Volunteer Awards and an annual Sports Quiz. Meeting two or three time
s a year in a social environment, participants are able to exchange ideas, share good practice, seek advice on obtaining grant aid and learn of training courses available ’on our doorstep’.
With the support of Sport Royston and our District and County Councillors Fiona Hill and Tony Hunter, who regularly attend meetings, a number of clubs have been able to enhance their facilities.
