Exclusive premier of new charity video featuring a local ‘all star cast’…

What do an international best selling author, a local accountant, two town councillors, a breakfast networking group and a county office from a national charity have in common? All have been in the recording studio to create a single, raising money for the leading private charity, Home-Start Hertfordshire who provide relief and support for parents of children under ten.

When Home-start’s Suzy Moody met The Accountancy Practice at the Baldock Network Group early one Tuesday morning, little did she know it would lead to her and her team singing on a single to raise money for their charity.

She knew that their Patron, Ken Follett was not only a generous supporter of the charity but also a talented musician. Ken graciously agreed to play bass and sing on the track, along with Royston Town Councillor Ian Coll, another enthusiastic supporter. However, they are not the only ones to have a musical bent, it transpired that their new accountant John Froggett started a singing career aged 60.

Under the guise of stage name Joe Rose, he’s since had the seal of approval from Elaine Paige no less, who played his recording of Empty Chairs at Empty Tables on her BBC Radio 2 show! Working with local enterprising independent label Folkstock Records, Joe has just released his debut album Class and offered to do the special Christmas charity single.

Folkstock Records are sponsoring the project, along with The Accountancy Practice and all the musicians and singers have given their time for free. All proceeds from the release of the single, the classic Blue Christmas, which was recorded locally by Martin Lumsden at Cream Room Studios in Dane End, will be given to Home-start Herts, to help meet their £300,000 annual funding target.

The single is being supported by a lively and fun filled video which also features some members of Baldock Network Group, Phillips Digital in Letchworth and Walnut Medical in Melbourn – https://bit.ly/BlueChristmasCharitySingle

Blue Christmas opens EP of the same name, which includes four tracks. The title track features Joe Rose plus guests, and the three bonus tracks are sung by Joe Rose and again produced by Martin Lumsden. The single was announced on North Herts Radio on Martin Lumden’s Friday breakfast show in mid November. Ken Follett and Joe Rose joined Martin in the studio and a laughter filled interview put the track on the map. Ken and Joe were then interviewed by Mike Naylor on BBC Three Counties Radio which was broadcast 30th November.

The album is available to buy as a CD for £5 and the download tracks are £1 each – www.folkstockrecords.bandcamp.com/album/blue-christmas
