Paddington Comes to Town 19 March to 26 June 2022 The brilliant touring exhibition from the British Library, Paddington: The Story of a Bear, is coming to North Herts Museum. Follow his trail of marmalade splats to explore his tales of adventures in this educational and fun exhibition. Celebrate one of the world’s most beloved fictional characters over 60 years on from when he was first introduced in 1958. Friends of Therfield Heath and Greens: Litter Pick Sunday 8 May. Arrive between 9.30-10.30am and collect your pickers and rubbish bags. Find us between the café and tennis courts. Bring your friends, family, children and dogs. Enjoy a walk across the Heath and pick up litter at the same time. Take as long or as little time as suits you but be back to us by 12noon.  The Friends will dispose of the rubbish and recycling collected. Don’t forget to wear weather appropriate clothing, it can be windy out there.

Royston Joins The Big Fix Saturday 14th May is a national repair day – The Big Fix. To celebrate, Royston Repair Café has teamed up with Mend My Phone to offer free advice and quick fixes for mobiles, along with other broken household items. At the May 14 community repair event, repairer Jason Marsh will be on hand from 2pm-5pm at Coombes Community Centre to look at phone problems of all kinds. Other volunteer repairers will also be on hand to mend bikes, sharpen garden tools, repair clothes, and fix electrical items. Gt Chishill Windmill Open Days We have organised a number of Open Days on Sundays through the Summer when you can come and be shown the inside of the windmill. It still has all the machinery that the miller used so you get a real feel for what it was like to work in a windmill. And if the wind varies whilst you are there you will feel (and hear!) to mill turning on its post. It is nearly the Summer and what better time for a picnic and tour of the Windmill? On Sunday 5th June (13:00 to 16:00) come and celebrate Her Majesty’s Jubilee at the Windmill. We will have a band, games, tours, BBQ and food and drinks. Fowlmere Art Exhibition Saturday 21st May: 10am – 9.30pm, Sunday 22nd May: 10am – 4.30pm Fundraising event for Fowlmere PTFA(Playground appeal), and and The Beads of Courage Programme at Addenbrookes. Exhibits art in many forms by local Artists, which can be bought and a percentage of the sale is donated to both of the above charities. For younger children (7 and under), write the correct shop name for each number. Older children (8–11) will need to read the royal fact in each window and write down the relevant date. Happy hunting!
