New Cambridge Singers Concert
@ St Mary’s Church
Jun 29 @ 7.30pm
![]() Join the New Cambridge Singers for a concert of sumptuous and reflective music, featuring the last great pieces of two very different composers. The Spanish Renaissance composer Victoria’s Requiem Mass, written at the end of the Siglo de Oro (the Spanish Golden Age) is often regarded as a funeral for a departing era, and contrasts beautifully with the work of the English composer Hubert Parry. Written during the First World War, Parry’s six Songs of Farewell can be seen as the pinnacle of his choral compositions, completed in the last year of his life. The movements of the two works are interspersed to provide a unique listening experience. Tickets are £10, students £6, under 18’s are free. Tickets available on the door, or to reserve call 01763 853149 or 01763 853462
