The Wildlife Trust Festival
The Wildlife Trust Festival
Jul 6 all-day
![]() SAVE THE DAY! The Wildlife Trust in Cambridgeshire is holding a two day festival – Cambourne to be Wild will be held on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July – in Cambourne. Expect two days of music, real ales, family entertainment and plenty of fun wild activities: tickets will be on sale by the end of the month. Maintaining nature reserves so that they’re at their best for people and for wildlife means having to be cruel to be kind at times. In undertaking conservation, the Wildlife Trust BCN achieves great results in augmenting many beautiful habitats such as flower-rich grasslands, wetlands with flocks of birds and vibrant native woodlands but the process of creation can often require some tough love. The work needed can look distinctly destructive, whether it’s creating wetland scrapes for wading birds, felling non-native conifer trees to restore native broadleaved woodland or building new visitor infrastructure. These big projects are vital for bringing nature reserves up to[...]
