The Creative Royston team are pleased to announce that the theme for the 2019 Royston Arts Festival will be ‘Our Planet’. We have chosen this theme in order to highlight the environmental and climate issues facing our planet but also to allow other participants the opportunity to take a different approach if they wish, for example by celebrating the wonders of our planet. The Hub, Melbourn, SG8 6DZ This September sees well-known local photographer Sarah Howard exhibit her work at The Hub in Melbourn. The exhibit show cases her work following a visit to the Camargue last year. The Camargue is a Regional Natural Park, centred around the Rhone Delta on the border between Provence and Languedoc-Roussillon in the south of France. The famous Camargue horses are the main focus of this exhibition. Capturing them in full motion riding through the waves to photographing their guardians in action.

So, if you’re a ‘local’ to Melbourn or its 13 catchment villages, it’s very likely that you have had some connection with “The College”, over the years. Whatever your connection, MVC are holding a reunion on Friday 27th September from 2-4pm, to mark the Diamond Anniversary. Particularly, it would be nice to meet the ‘pioneer pupils’, who attended from the opening day in September 1959. Come and find yourself on a 2-metre enlargement of the first all-school photograph! There will be refreshments, displays, music and the chance to share memories and catch up with friends. Every Friday, 2.05 – 2.35pm, Royston Library. Toddler Tales is the perfect step on from Baby Rhyme Time, with a mix of lively stories and rhymes for you and your child to join in with. The stories chosen are aimed at toddlers and pre-school children but babies are welcome too. Sharing stories and rhymes with your child helps to develop their listening skills, language and imagination. Enjoy the stories together by sitting with your child during the session and then spend time browsing and borrowing from our extensive range of picture books.
