Follow his trail of marmalade splats to explore his tales of adventures in this educational and fun exhibition. Celebrate one of the world’s most beloved fictional characters over 60 years on from when he was first introduced in 1958. Featuring over 50 books, documents and original artworks, highlights include the first edition of A Bear Called Paddington by Michael Bond given to his parents, a selection of memorabilia owned by Michael Bond – including Bond’s typewriter used in the 1960s – and original illustrations of Paddington stories by artists including Peggy Fortnum, David McKee and R.W. Alley.  Come into town and find the crowns hidden in the shop windows. Complete the trail for a chance to win one of two picnic baskets, filled with cakes and treats, perfect for an afternoon tea. For younger children (7 and under), write the correct shop name for each number. Older children (8–11) will need to read the royal fact in each window and write down the relevant date. Happy hunting! The trail will run from 28th May – 11th June 2022. To enter the competition, children must complete the A4 competition entry form – available to download from the Royston First website or collect in-person from Jolly Postie. Entrants must then take part in the town trail to find the 12 crowns hidden in shop front windows in the town centre. As always we end up at the Café for a brew. Everyone is welcome to join us regardless of age, level of fitness and in principle state of health.  Gt Chishill Windmill Open Days We have organised a number of Open Days on Sundays through the Summer when you can come and be shown the inside of the windmill. It still has all the machinery that the miller used so you get a real feel for what it was like to work in a windmill. And if the wind varies whilst you are there you will feel (and hear!) to mill turning on its post. It is nearly the Summer and what better time for a picnic and tour of the Windmill? Royston Health Walks Royston Health Walks is an independent social walking group. We have a number of different walks every Wednesday all of which start at The Heath Café, Baldock Road, Royston, SG8 5BG. At 10am we have a leisurely walk over Therfield Heath covering about 1½ miles and a slow/flat walk. Both are opportunities to get a bit of exercise, have a chat and meet new people. The groups come together at the Café for a brew around 11am, please feel free to join us. Our Wednesday afternoon walk is a bit more challenging and a little longer (about 2 miles) and starts at 5pm. As always we end up at the Café for a brew. Everyone is welcome to join us regardless of age, level of fitness and in principle state of health. It still has all the machinery that the miller used so you get a real feel for what it was like to work in a windmill. Royston Health Walks Royston Health Walks is an independent social walking group. We have a number of different walks every Wednesday all of which start at The Heath Café, Baldock Road, Royston, SG8 5BG. At 10am we have a leisurely walk over Therfield Heath covering about 1½ miles and a slow/flat walk. Both are opportunities to get a bit of exercise, have a chat and meet new people. The groups come together at the Café for a brew around 11am, please feel free to join us. Our Wednesday afternoon walk is a bit more challenging and a little longer (about 2 miles) and starts at 5pm. As always we end up at the Café for a brew. Everyone is welcome to join us regardless of age, level of fitness and in principle state of health.
