What’s On… in Royston and Beyond

What’s On… in Royston and Beyond  The Listing What’s On guide is the most comprehensive guide in the area, helping you to plan how to spend your free time. Our online diary and printed pages are reserved for one-off events, rather than reoccurring events, meetings and classes.  Click here to visit our online organisation directory for more information on our local clubs and societies.

Do you have an event you would like to promote? Simply email your events to whatson@townhousepublishing.co.uk and it will be included online and in our printed magazines in the month of the event (subject to space and other terms.)

If you wanted your event to really stand out, you might also like to consider running an advert in the magazine too, or possibly consider our door-to-door leaflet delivery service.  Discounted advertising rates are given for charity and not for profit organisations.

Two sessions: 11am -12.15pm, 2 – 3.15pm In 1915 Churchill was rescued from depression by the ‘muse of painting’. Painting was the mainstay that allowed one of our greatest national leaders to achieve all that he did. Churchill’s paintings record landscapes from the Riviera, to Blenheim, Chartwell and Marrakech. The most fascinating aspects of this exploration of a talent beyond the mere amateur is the role it played in his personal and political life, the restorative power of the process of painting, and the insight it allows us into the art of his age. Churchill took lessons from Lavery, Sickert and Nicholson, and the choices he made tell us much about the colour, texture and direction of art in the early-twentieth century. Free Parking and lift access.  Visitors £7. www.theartssocietynorthherts.org.uk
