Royston Rockets BMX Club

In its 40th year, the Royston Rockets BMX Club are having a busy 2022.

38 riders have taken part in the Summer Regional series so far, with 10 currently in podium positions. 6 out of 9 rounds have taken place, so every race counts in the next couple of months. This also means that most of our riders have qualified for the British Championships which are taking place in Bournemouth in August. The club really looks forward to this event especially as we join with all the clubs in the Eastern region to compete together.

Nationally, the Rockets have been represented by 17 riders, the Nationals are a tough challenge and require dedication from riders and their families. To be racing on the same track as our Olympic riders Bethany Shriever and Kye Whyte is a fantastic experience for any rider.

The Club encourages new riders to race through club races, which are currently held every other Tuesday evening. Club races are much smaller than other BMX racing events and are a safe and familiar way to begin the sport. Through coaching and development within the club, riders increase in confidence to race regionally taking a rider to a number of events across East Anglia to represent the Royston Rockets.

The next regional at Royston is Sunday 17th July – come and give us a cheer!
